Developing proven isolation mechanisms and a more efficient evaluation methodology for complex embedded and IoT systems.
Connected embedded systems combine multiple hardware and software components with different levels of security assurance. Evaluating the entire system using traditional certification methods can require considerable time, cost and effort. ODSI addressed the need for a trusted foundation capable of isolating security-critical applications while supporting modular, scalable system evaluation.
ODSI (On Demand Secure Isolation) developed a security model based on hardware and software isolation mechanisms, together with a certification methodology for embedded and IoT systems.
Internet of Trust led the project’s security work package. Its work included:
The analysed use cases covered routers, corporate mobile devices, airport ground-service
vehicles, agriculture and SCADA platforms.
