Carolina Lavatelli is a leading international figure in cybersecurity standardization and certification architecture. She co-leads Internet of Trust’s global technical strategy.
As co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Paris office, Carolina Lavatelli leads the security assessment and regulatory engineering strategy for all Internet of Trust clients. She advises industry players, manufacturers of connected devices, and international consortia on the deployment of high-assurance certification programs.
A graduate of Denis Diderot University (Paris VII), Carolina has internationally recognized expertise in designing evaluation frameworks for smart cards, mobile devices, the IoT, 5G ecosystems, and content protection solutions. She is the lead author of numerous Protection Profiles (PPs) and reference test methodologies.
A key player in global standardization, Carolina serves as Chair of the TES Labs working group within GlobalPlatform. She actively participates in and consistently contributes to the work of leading international standardization groups such as ISCI, JTEMS, and ETSI, of which Internet of Trust is an official member.
At the forefront of compliance trends, she oversees the firm’s initiatives related to the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and developments in the Common Criteria (notably the transition to the CC:2022 revision). Recently, under her technical leadership, Internet of Trust has expanded its cutting-edge capabilities in the field of biometric security and presentation attack detection (PAD—ISO/IEC 30107) mechanisms, thereby directly addressing the future evaluation criteria for the European digital identity (EUDI Wallet).
